Letitia Wright capped off a huge year by winning the "Rising Star" award at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) show in London. The 25 year old Briton played parts in four films in 2018, including Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, and was recognized at the end of last year as the top grossing actor in America for the year with a $1.55 billion (b) box office haul.

When presented with her BAFTA last night, Wright, an outspoken Christian, immediately gave glory to God for what she has achieved.

"I identify myself as a child of God and I can’t get up here without thanking God."

She also mentioned her previous battle with depression - a battle that made her consider quitting acting - and said her faith and family, among other things, helped her stick with it. Wright then called herself "a work in progress" and reached out with a word of compassion to others facing the struggle against depression.

"God made you and you're important...and I just want to encourage you. And I just want to say that God loves you and just let your light shine."

Talented, humble and compassionate: hard not to root for a Christian sister like that. You can watch Wright's entire acceptance speech in the clip below.
