Average Joe collected $1.1 million in North-American ticket revenue from Friday through Sunday, according to figures from The Numbers website. That puts the limited-release film in 12th place overall on its only scheduled weekend in theaters.

Based on a true story, the faith-based picture follows the journey of former high school football coach Joe Kennedy, who lost his job for praying at midfield after games, only to ultimately win a reversal of that decision from the United States Supreme Court.

Directed by Christian filmmaker Harold Cronk and starring Eric Close in the role of the coach, Average Joe will be in theaters through this coming Thursday, October 17th. You can purchase tickets to a venue in your area through this link to the website of distributor Fathom Events.
