A Musical Offering from Kathie Lee Gifford for Easter

The Christian actress and screenwriter is also quite a musician and will share three new songs with fans.

Kathie Lee Gifford is not one to let grass grow under her feet: since her departure from the Today show one year ago this month, she has written a couple screenplays, directed a film, acted in others and penned several songs. On Friday, she stopped by the show - via a live shot from Florida - to catch up with former co-host Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, the woman who replaced her on the morning program.

Kathie Lee isn't letting this coronavirus slow her down either, despite being self-quarantined with her daughter and future son-in-law in the Sunshine State, a measure she agreed to at her children's insistence. She admits to feeling a bit frustrated that she's "not able to be part of the healing" of the country from the illness-induced trauma, being that she's no longer on daily television.

Gifford, however, "wants to give comfort" to people and has written three new songs that will debut tomorrow on Christian radio to that end. This step comes despite the fact that she originally planned to first record them with accompanying films she will shoot in the Holy Land in order to release them as music videos, something she's done once previously. But Gifford told Kotb and Bush Hager that this early release of the songs alone - all of which focus on God - is something "the Lord laid" on her heart to do.

"My prayer is that they will bless people, they will give them hope and healing and comfort."

Gifford is teaming up with Christian radio network K-Love for the debut of her songs. The event takes place Easter Sunday starting at 10:00 AM EDT. You can click this link to K-Love to listen online or find a station in your area that carries their signal. And you can take in the entire Today show interview with Gifford here.
