The latest faith-based film from the Erwin Brothers holds firm at the box office.
Ordinary Angels rung up $3.7 million from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers website. Though that is down nearly 40% from its inaugural weekend, the picture nonetheless managed to claim third place overall again at the box office, making it two weekends in row and bringing its total haul thus far to $12.4 million.
Oscar-winner Hilary Swank and Christian actor Alan Ritchson play the lead parts in the movie, which tells the true story of a Kentucky town that rallied together during a blizzard back in the 1990s to help a little girl in urgent need of a liver transplant.
Ordinary Angels was produced by the brother duo of Andrew and Jon Erwin and directed by Jon Gunn, all three of whom are committed Believers and among the leading filmmakers in the Christian genre.
