The two-episode production follows up a first-place finish on opening night with a good showing from Friday through Sunday.
The Chosen Season 3 Finale brought in $3.64 million at the box office over the weekend, according to The Numbers website. That puts it in ninth place overall and even higher - seventh place among the first 10 films - when ranked by revenue per theater: an average of $2,104 in each venue. That performance comes on the heels of a first-place finish Thursday when it opened, which we reported here.
This limited-engagement production - in theaters for just five days total - will be split up into separate episodes for the show's streaming platforms, with episode seven releasing tonight (Sunday, February 5th) at 7:00 PM ET (GMT -5) in a livestream hosted by series creator/director Dallas Jenkins and featuring lead actor Jonathan Roumie, who plays the Jesus character. Episode eight comes out via streaming on Tuesday, February 7th at 9:00 PM (GMT -5).
If you would like to see the finale - the two episodes combined - on the big screen, bear in mind that it runs just two more days: today and tomorrow. You can find a theater in your area and purchase tickets here from the website of distributor Fathom Events.
