The faith-based comedy puts together a solid inaugural weekend in theaters.
Camp Hideout earned $489,000 in ticket revenue from Friday through Sunday, according to Box Office Mojo. That was good enough to put the teen-oriented picture in 14th place overall for the weekend.
A fish-out-of-water, slapstick movie that stars Corbin Bleu, Christopher Lloyd and Ethan Drew, this one focuses on a troubled boy - played by the latter actor - who opts for church camp over being sent to juvenile hall. Once there, he ends up bonding with his strait-laced fellow campers, who then help him outfox a pair of villains hot on his trail.
As Christian Film Blog reported late last week, there are two other faith-based films currently in release in theaters - The Hill and Sound of Freedom - and Camp Hideout managed to outperform each of them in its debut weekend.
