The Christian film inches closer to $20 million in ticket sales as it wraps up its fifth weekend in release.
Ordinary Angels brought in an estimated $330,000 at theaters from Friday through Sunday, according to early data from The Numbers website, putting it in 16th place overall at the box office. That is down from 10th place the previous weekend, but it brings the movie's total theatrical revenue to $18.8 million through 31 days in release.
The film is the latest production from the Christian brother duo of Andrew and Jon Erwin and their Kingdom Story Company and its partners at Lionsgate studio. It stars Alan Ritchson - the lead actor on Amazon's Reacher and also a committed Believer - and Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank. Based on actual events, the movie tells the story of a Kentucky town that rallied together to help a little girl in need of a liver transplant.
