The faith-based film manages the feat despite a significant drop in its theater count.

During its second weekend in theaters, The Firing Squad brought in an estimated $247,000 in ticket sales, according to preliminary figures from The Numbers website, down more than 70% from the previous weekend. That drop is certainly in part due to the fact that the picture from Christian director Tim Chey saw a significant falloff in theaters showing it: down to 440 from 810 on opening weekend.

It still managed to land in 13th place overall from Friday through Sunday, though, four spots lower than a week earlier.
The movie, which has now generated more than $1.5 million in total revenue, is based on a true story about three Believers facing the death penalty in an Indonesia prison, and it features prominent Christian actors Kevin Sorbo and Cuba Gooding Jr. in principal roles.
