The latest film from the Erwin Brothers is closing in on $40 million in gross revenue.
Jesus Revolution continues to draw large numbers of fans to movie theaters, claiming seventh place overall at the weekend box office. It did that by bringing in an estimated $5.1 million from Friday through Sunday, according to data from The Numbers website. So, through three weekends in release, the film's total haul now tops $39.4 million, which is an impressive figure for a faith-based movie.
The picture stars Jonathan Roumie - best known for playing the Jesus character in the streaming series The Chosen - Kelsey Grammer and Joel Courtney. Based on a book by prominent pastor Greg Laurie, it tells the story of America's last great revival from the late 1960s and early 1970s.
