The film about the martyred man of faith wrapped up its third weekend in release.
From the previous weekend to this latest one, Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin. saw its theater count drop from 1,800 to 945, which not surprisingly had a significant impact on ticket revenue; that came in at just above $560,000 from Friday through Sunday - according to The Numbers website - a 76% fall from a week ago, and put the picture in 16th place at the box office, ten places lower than last weekend.
The biopic tells the story of World War II era German pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who was an anti-Nazi dissident. He stood up against the National Socialist regime in an effort to protect Jews from Adolph Hitler's murderous campaign to annihilate them, ultimately paying with his own life in 1945, shortly before the war came to an end.
