The Christian actress will again co-star with Cameron Mathison in the new production on Great American Family channel.

The response to 2024's Home Sweet Christmas was so good that it has prompted an encore of sorts. Cable network Great American Family announced that it will produce a sequel with its headline actress, and Chief Content Officer, Candace Cameron Bure again playing the lead.

Bure was joined on social media by her co-star, Canadian actor Cameron Mathison, and Bill Abbott, the founder, president and CEO of the channel, to break the news. Abbott, himself a committed Christian, said that "the reaction was so positive," to the first picture, adding that "the audience loved that movie." That prompted Mathison to respond that he "was so happy to hear that,' and further state "it was very comfortable and trusting, and I think there was a great connection," in terms of working with Bure on screen for the first time.
For her part, the 48-year-old California native, who is a wife and mother of three adult children, agreed that she loved working with Mathison, whom she has known for many years. She did not, however, give any details on the plot of the new production, though being a sequel, it will no doubt pick up where the last one left off: two life-long friends co-inheriting a family sugar-maple farm that they want to jointly operate.
There is no timeline yet announced for production either, but these made-for-TV Christmas movies are typically shot in the summer and turned around to air during the Yuletide season, so we will boldly assume it will be on the network between October and the end of December as part of this year's Great American Christmas programming event. Christian Film Blog will bring you updates as we get them.
