The outspoken Christian actor and star of Marvel Studios' latest superhero picture refuses to be intimidated by opponents.

There is no debating Chris Pratt's box office prowess, as his latest picture, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, blew away the competition in theaters this past weekend, coming in first place with a whopping $114 million debut. While that is lower than the previous iteration of the franchise - the second film brought in $146 million in its inaugural weekend in 2017 - it is still almost $96 million more than the next closest movie generated from Friday through Sunday.

Not only does Pratt consistently deliver at the box office, but he consistently uses his star power to share his faith, which has just as consistently drawn criticism from the anti-Christian crowd in Hollywood. At a recent screening of the new superhero flick, the 43-year-old husband and father of three children told Page Six that the negativity comes as no surprise, stating, "2,000 years ago, they hated (Jesus), too," before going on to paraphrase Christ to drive home the point.

"If I was of this world, they would love me just like that, but, as it is, I've (been) chosen out of this world. That's John 15:18-20."

Pratt also mentioned a rhinoceros and having similarly "thick skin" as part of how he deals with the criticism. The professional success God has blessed him with in the Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World franchises no doubt helps soften the blows as well: those films have generated more than $5 billion in combined global ticket revenue...and that is not counting what is to come from this latest picture.
