From the producers behind the "God's Not Dead" franchise, this picture will get an early jump on the Easter season.

Fans of faith-based films will have a couple options this year when it comes to portrayals of Jesus' final days on Earth. Not only is Season 5 of The Chosen coming to theaters next month, as we recently reported, but a movie entitled The Last Supper is as well.
That latter production has some big names connected to it, including producer Michael Scott, a committed Believer who produced the God's Not Dead films, The Case for Christ, and is one of the founders of Pinnacle Peak Pictures, the studio behind this one. They have teamed up with Great American Pure Flix and Grand Canyon University - a Phoenix-based Christian school - as well.
Also onboard in a behind-the-camera capacity is Chris Tomlin. The winner of a Grammy Award, two Billboard Music Awards, and nearly two dozen Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, the contemporary Christian music star is executive producer of this film. In an appearance in the trailer, he praises the Biblical accuracy of the production and says he "can't wait" for audiences to see it.
"One of the things I love about this movie is it's so theologically accurate: it's so right-on-the-money! So much of it is God's Word just brought to life."
Speaking of which, the cast tasked with doing that on screen features some well-known players like Englishman James Faulkner (Paul, Apostle of Christ), James Knepper (Heroes), and Australian actor Jamie Ward in the role of Jesus.
Releasing in theaters on March 14th, The Last Supper will get a head start on The Chosen Season 5, coming out nearly two weeks before it and more than a month before Easter Sunday. In the meantime, you can check out the trailer below to get a better feel for what to expect.
