The actress admits to turning down interesting roles that do not jibe with her Christian beliefs.
If you follow Christian Film Blog regularly, you know we write a lot about Candace Cameron Bure; this is the third article in the last three weeks that mentions her. She's a big name in Hollywood, to be sure, particularly on the Hallmark Channel, where her lead roles in Christmas movies and the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries make her one of their top stars. But it's her outspoken Christian Faith that's the real reason we like her so much.
The latest example being an interview with the website of Fox News in which she shares gems like, "I live by faith in everything," and "The Bible is truth to me," or, "I know that God is in control of everything." This is a Christian sister who seems to miss no opportunity to glorify the Lord and encourage fellow Believers, and we love it.
She also shares her challenges, including the temptations she's faced when being offered parts that may be lucrative or high-profile, but that do not represent who she is as a Christian. She tells Fox News "some were really easy to pass on," but not all of them.
"There's some that I've wanted and you're like, 'Ugh, it's not so bad.' But in my heart, I'm like, 'But it's not right for me.' And that's what I've always trusted...I just know that's made it easier to make that decision to stay true to who I am."
That is a strong example of living out the Christian life: following Holy Spirit-inspired convictions even at the cost of lost opportunities. And it is just one highlight from the interview. Cameron Bure also shares her feelings about the recent end of her Fuller House series after five seasons and why she likes working with the Hallmark Channel so much...24 films to date. We recommend you check out the entire Fox News piece, which you can do via this link to their website.
