The Christian act will roll out their holiday concert tour this week for a limited engagement theatrical run.
Among the most popular groups on the Christian Contemporary Music scene, For King and Country is bringing their latest show to movie theaters this Yuletide season. The production - for King + Country's A Drummer Boy Christmas Live - is being billed as a "cinematic concert experience" and was filmed during a performance in Houston, Texas, in front of a 12,000-strong audience.
The multiple Grammy Award-winning Nashville band is led by Joel and Luke Smallbone, the Australian-born brothers who earlier this year shared their coming-to-America story in the former's directorial debut, Unsung Hero. Though this concert production is itself new, the underlying music and theme are not: they are based on their 2020 album, A Drummer Boy Christmas. And, as we previously reported, they also put out another related streaming production for Christmas of 2021.
The musical tour featured in this film is currently still underway and will make stops in New York City and London - among other locations - before concluding in Nashville on December 20th. The picture, on the other hand, is set to play in theaters all across the nation starting Thursday, December 5th, and running through December 19th. You can purchase tickets to a venue in your area from distributor Fathom Events, and the trailer below will give a good sense of what to expect.
