The hit show about the life of Christ recently wrapped production of its latest eight-episode season.

What a month this is proving to be for The Chosen, as the streaming series has not only finished shooting Season 5 and moved completely into post-production, but also announced today that it has secured all the necessary financing as well. In a social media clip headlined "BIG NEWS!," the show thanked crowdfunding supporters for helping it raise the money.
Some 104,000 people from more than 150 countries kicked in a staggering volume of donations; though no specific number has been provided, the show's partners at the Come and See foundation were targeting $40 million to fund the season, which will focus on Holy Week.
Scheduled to run seven seasons total, The Chosen - which is from Christian director Dallas Jenkins and stars American actor Jonathan Roumie in the role of the Savior - is now reaching the end of Jesus' earthly ministry: Season 6 will focus on the crucifixion while Season 7 is to be set after His resurrection. As for Season 5, no firm release date has been set yet, but with past performance as a guide, sometime early next year is most likely. Christian Film Blog will follow developments and bring you updates as we get them.
