The action thriller produces a solid second weekend at the box office.
Despite the continued dominance of several big-budget animated pictures - Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Musafa: The Lion King, and Moana 2 - the faith-based Homestead managed to deliver its second good showing in as many weekends, finishing in ninth place, down from fifth when it debuted a week earlier. The film brought in almost $3.1 million from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers website, pushing its total revenue in North America to nearly $12.8 million so far.
The action in this one plays out after a nuclear strike on Los Angeles pushes a wealthy man and associates to a self-styled fortress he has set up for a societal breakdown touched off by just this sort of catastrophe. Neal McDonough plays that character and is supported on screen by Bailey Chase and Christian actor Jesse Hutch.
