If you have ever wanted to be in a faith-based movie, now is your chance, because the filmmakers behind I Can Only Imagine 2 are putting out the call for background extras. The picture will be shot in Nashville, TN, in April and May and will again follow the journey of Christian musician Bart Millard.

While the first movie focused on the singer's struggles growing up with an abusive father, this time it will switch to his challenge in the role of father, as he tries to come to terms with raising a son with health issues. Another hit song from Mercy Me - Even If - will also be at the heart of the story. Actor J. Michael Finley will again play the lead, with Dennis Quaid and Trace Adkins also reprising their roles as Millard's father and manager, respectively.

Moviemakers Andrew Erwin and Brent McCorkle of the Christian studio Kingdom Story Company will co-direct the picture. They recently took to social media to appeal for help with "massive concert scenes" that they plan to film. Those will be used to recreate tour appearances by Millard and Mercy Me, according to McCorkle.

"We need to fill these giant amphitheaters up with loving people that really support this band and love Kingdom movies, and, so, we'd love to see you there."

This will be a labor of love, so to speak, meaning extras will not be paid for their efforts. They will, however, be fed and given a free tee-shirt for participating. If you are interested in taking part, you can learn more by signing up at the film's website via this link. As to the movie itself, it is currently slated for release in theaters in the spring of 2026.
