The faith-based hit from the Erwin Brothers is winding down its run on the big screen.
Even after 59 days in movie theaters, Jesus Revolution still managed to bring in a bit more than $42,000 from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers website, and it did so while showing on just 98 screens. That revenue puts the picture in 25th place overall for the weekend.
It is a solid number for this film from Andrew and Jon Erwin - the top filmmakers in the Christian genre - and its pushes the total domestic box office gross above $52 million, which is a rare achievement for a faith-based picture.
Jesus Revolution stars Joel Courtney, Kelsey Grammer and Jonathan Roumie and tells the true story of America's last great revival. The movie is already available for purchase in the digital format, will roll out on DVD and Blu-ray this week and has begun releasing in theaters internationally, so there should be significant incoming revenue still ahead for the Erwins and their studio partners at Lionsgate.
