The two-episode production releases exclusively in theaters starting tomorrow.
Dallas Jenkins, the creator/director of The Chosen, just wrapped up post-production of the Season 3 finale and promptly shared it with Jonathan Roumie, the star of this series about the life of Christ. The verdict? Full-throated approval!
The two men discussed it in a social media post promoting the production - which consists of both episodes seven and eight - and the New-York-born actor jokingly put it this way: "The universe demands you see this in theaters!" Roumie, who watched a screening copy by himself, said he was "blown away."
"It's the best finale we've ever done. Hands down, hands down, hands down."
This production - and thus the third season - will culminate with Jesus' miraculous feeding of the 5,000, the shooting of which featured an amazing 10,000 extras, as we have previously reported. For his part, Jenkins called it "overwhelming," adding that Roumie's performance is "so beautiful," and that he was "kind of breathless" while watching some of the scenes despite having directed them.
The limited engagement Season 3 finale hits the silver screen tomorrow, Thursday, February 2nd and runs through February 6th and you can purchase tickets to a local theater via this link to the website of distributor Fathom Events. It will release for free viewing on the show's streaming platforms next week in livestreams hosted by Jenkins: episode seven on February 5th at 7:00 PM ET (GMT -5) and episode eight on February 7th at 9:00 PM ET (GMT -5).
