The Christian celebrity swings by her old stomping grounds in Midtown Manhattan for a reunion on the NBC morning show.
Kathie Lee Gifford called the Today show home for 11 years, hosting the program's fourth hour until leaving in April. This morning, she was reunited with her long-time co-anchor, Hoda Kotb, and Jenna Hager Bush, the woman who is now filling Kathie Lee's shoes.
Gifford, who moved to Nashville after stepping down at Today, was visibly pleased to be on the set and did a couple of segments, first updating viewers on all she's been up to since her departure and then putting in a plug for her latest Hallmark movie - A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love. The 66-year old even flexed her muscles - literally - proudly showing off the results of a new fitness regimen.
The move away from the New York area has clearly been a catalyst for creativity, as Gifford has been recording songs, writing movies, starring in them and directing music videos, to name but a few of her endeavors. And judging by her comments this morning, she seems to have truly enjoyed the transition to southern living, saying she's happier than she's been "in years and years," citing the people's "culture of kindness" in Nashville as part of the reason.
"They're joyful. They have so much fun. It's music everywhere, music everywhere. And there's barbecues. Everything's Americana like when I was growing up."
Gifford, who was widowed in 2015 when her husband Frank Gifford died, has even been out on a date for the first time in 33 years. Good for Kathie Lee!
