The Christian actress is appealing for prayer as she and her family confront the unexpected loss.
On the eve of Thanksgiving and just days before her new Hallmark Channel Christmas movie debuts, Lacey Chabert was hit with the devastating news that her adult sister, Wendy, passed away.
The Mississippi-born actress took to social media to announce the death, calling it a "shocking loss," adding that the family's "hearts are shattered into a million pieces" and that they "love and adore (Wendy) more than we can ever say and we will continue to forever and ever and ever."
The post features an old photograph of Wendy, but it does not give any details of the circumstances surrounding her death other than the fact that it came unexpectedly. What it does communicate, however, is Chabert's deep and tender feelings for her sibling and an eternal hope that is born out of her steadfast Christian faith.
"Our lives will never be the same without my dear sister, but we cling to the promises of Jesus that we will be together again in eternity."
Chabert also asks for prayer for the family, and particularly for her late sister's two sons. We at Christian Film Blog are already lifting them up, asking our loving Heavenly Father to ease their pain and draw them near at this time of their bereavement.
On an obviously much less important note, there is no word yet as to whether this sad turn of events will have any impact on the scheduling of Chabert's new movie, Christmas at Castle Hart, which is currently set to premiere on the Hallmark Channel this Saturday, November 27th, at 8:00 PM EDT/7:00 PM CDT.
