The Christian actress gets off to a fast start in 2023, with three new pictures out this month.
After the departure last year of fellow Christian actress Candace Cameron Bure for Great American Family channel, Lacey Chabert has now become the top star on the Hallmark networks. And the 40-year-old Mississippi native is wasting no time putting her stamp on this year's programming, kicking off a movie sequel trilogy this weekend.
She plays the leading role in The Wedding Veil Expectations, which is a follow-up to another trilogy of Hallmark Channel movies from last year that are also based on an antique veil that seems to possess mysterious powers that lead to love. This time around, however, Chabert and her now-husband, played by Hallmark regular Kevin McGarry, seem to be headed for parenthood.
That is such a departure from the standard boy-meets-girl-boy-falls-in-love-with-girl format so familiar to the Hallmark Channel that the star even made mention of it in a social media post, saying, "These movies typically end once the characters fall in love, but this time we get to see what happens in their lives and relationship after the wedding."
Chabert's character will be supported by her pals from the first three movies, played again by actresses Autumn Reeser and Allison Sweeney, who will respectively star as the leads in each of the next two movies of this sequel trilogy: The Wedding Veil Inspiration and The Wedding Veil Journey, which air later this month.
The Wedding Veil Expectations kicks it all off this Saturday, January 7th, at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT on the Hallmark Channel and you can check out the trailer via this link to that outfit's website.
