In a break from previous practice, the Christian actress will star in two of the network's Yuletide flicks this holiday season.
Lacey Chabert, long one of the leading ladies of the Hallmark family of channels, is now their headliner after the mass exodus of other top talent like Candace Cameron Bure and Danica McKellar - both also Christians - who moved over to rival Great American Family. In a sign of Chabert's star power and the depleted ranks of female leads, she will appear in not one Christmas film this year, as in the past, but in two of them.
It is part of Hallmark Channel's annual Count Down to Christmas holiday programming event, which will feature 31 new Yuletide films and kick off on October 20th; Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel will air an additional nine new pictures. Chabert's productions will both appear on the former channel, starting with A Merry Scottish Christmas on November 18th and followed a week later by movie number two, Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up, which is to air on November 25th.
Interestingly, Hallmark's top male lead, Kristoffer Polaha, is also a committed Christian. Unlike Chabert, however, the Reno, Nevada native will not be pulling double duty this holiday season, instead starring in just one film: A Biltmore Christmas, as Christian Film Blog previously reported. That one debuts November 26th, and like the other movies mentioned above, it begins at 8:00 PM EST/7:00 PM CST.
