Fans of Candace Cameron Bure's Aurora Teagarden Mysteries franchise only have a few months to wait before she introduces them to her new sleuthing persona: Ainsley McGregor. Bure will play the fictional former crime researcher in the production on her new channel.

The 48-year-old former star of Fuller House and the recent faith-based film Unsung Hero is herself a big fan of the so-called cozy mystery: she made 18 Aurora Teagarden movies before leaving the Hallmark networks for Great American Family in 2022. When word of this new endeavor broke earlier this year, Bure said that "There's nothing more exciting" for her than getting back to work in this genre.

Her new role is based on a character by the same name from a series of books by bestselling author Candace Havens and this inaugural made-for-TV movie is called The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker. It is set in the character's Texas hometown, to which she has rebased after working as a criminologist in Chicago. A murder at a local winery leads to a friend facing charges, which prompts Bure's character to help investigate the case.

The production, which also stars Canadian actor Aaron Ashmore, is scheduled to air on Great American Family on October 4th. In the meantime, Christian Film Blog will bring you updates as we get them.
