The Christian actress and former model has been battling the disease since last fall.
After months of chemotherapy and immunotherapy for stage four breast cancer, Nicole Weider is now in remission. The actress, whose credits include faith-based films Switched and Catching Faith 2, took to social media to share the news and thank everyone who has been praying for her.
A wife and mother of two young children, Weider has chronicled her journey on Instagram since announcing her illness last November, as Christian Film Blog reported at the time. She is to undergo her last chemo session today and gave glory to the Lord in her latest social media post, while also stating that it is a challenge to grasp her new reality.
"...it's hard to even believe this and it feels surreal typing it but I am in REMISSION now from cancer!! Praise Jesus!"
The native of Portland, Oregon added that though she has been feeling poorly lately because the "treatments have been super hard," she is grateful that she is "now turning a big corner in this journey." Weider will transition to a course of radiation therapy to make sure that the cancer - known as HER2+ - is gone. And this is not her only good news either: she and her husband are soon expecting the birth of their third child, who is being carried by a surrogate mother.
Please join us in lifting up our Christian sister in prayer. Father in heaven, we thank you for your love and faithfulness and ask for full healing of Nicole Weider. Bless her and her family and draw them ever closer to you, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
