The first installment of season two will debut on Easter Sunday.
Millions of fans all over the globe are counting down the days until the premiere of episode one of the second season of The Chosen. Show creator and director Dallas Jenkins and team are no doubt putting the finishing touches on it in post-production right now, having wrapped filming in Texas just a couple of weeks ago.
With only the eight-episode first season currently under its belt, this hit streaming series about the life of Christ has already generated 91 million worldwide views, putting it well on its way to reaching Jenkins' goal of one billion (b) once all seven seasons are complete. The release schedule for the remaining seven episodes of season two is still up in the air, as we reported earlier this month, but Jenkins has promised to get them out as fast as possible.
In the meantime, he and the show have a lot going on for Holy Week in the lead up to Easter Sunday's debut of that new episode. First, as you can see in the accompanying image, they will replay all of season one in a livestream marathon beginning tomorrow at 8:30 PM EDT/7:30 PM CDT and going through Friday with two episodes per day. Second, on Wednesday they will release the trailer for season two, which will feature Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, among other monumental moments in his early ministry. You can catch all of it on the show's YouTube channel or Facebook page.
The entire first season - as well as those to come - is also available via the The Chosen app, so that's a good option if your schedule doesn't jibe with theirs; the app can be downloaded for free wherever you get your apps.
