The faith-based film from the Kendrick Brothers claims a spot in the Top-40 at the weekend box office.
Overcomer has now been in release for almost 11 full weeks and, though its theater count is under 100, it still managed to bring in nearly $45,000 from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers. That figure is good enough to put it in 34th place overall at the box office.
This is the sixth feature film from the brother duo of Stephen Kendrick and Alex Kendrick, who are both former pastors, and it is their second highest grossing picture, with domestic ticket sales topping $34.6 million. That trails only War Room, their 2015 hit that earned a whopping $67.8 million at theaters in North America.
Overcomer, which has a good cast of Christian actors, including Priscilla Shirer, Shari Rigby, Cameron Arnett, Aryn Wright-Thompson and Alex Kendrick, goes on sale later this month, so it won't be in theaters much longer.
