The latest installment of the hit show about the life of Jesus will release on the big screen in its entirety over the next couple of weeks.

The moment fans of The Chosen have been waiting for has finally arrived: the first two episodes of Season 5 release today. The series, from Christian director/creator Dallas Jenkins and starring American actor Jonathan Roumie in the role of Jesus, will debut episodes one and two in this first of three parts, which is entitled The Chosen: Last Supper Part One.
The entire season is set during Holy Week in Jerusalem, from the moment Jesus makes His Triumphal Entry on Palm Sunday and through the Last Supper and His betrayal at the hands of Judas Iscariot, one of the 12 Apostles. Those latter events, and others like Jesus' driving the buyers and sellers out of the Temple, will play out in the eight-episode season. Part Two releases in theaters next Thursday, April 3rd - and will be comprised of episodes three through five - and the third and final part - episodes six through eight - comes out on April 10th.
There are two more seasons of the show still in the offing, with Season 6 focusing exclusively on the day of the Crucifixion and Season 7 covering the Resurrection and the days that follow, including the Ascencion of Christ into Heaven. No word yet on exactly when we can expect to see those since they are still to go into production.
