The movie about a renowned eye surgeon manages the feat despite a major drop off in revenue from its debut weekend.
Sight drummed up more than $1 million in ticket revenue from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers website, putting it in 11th place overall at the box office. That is a four-spot drop from a week earlier - its opening weekend - and the revenue is down more than 60% from the same time frame.
Ten days into its North American theatrical release, the faith-based picture has generated more than $5.8 million in total revenue at the box office.
Sight, which earned an A rating from opening night audiences surveyed by CinemaScore, stars Greg Kinnear and Terry Chen. It tells the true story of a man named Ming Wang - played by the latter actor - who in the early 1980s emigrated from communist China and went on to become a ground-breaking eye surgeon in the United States.
