That makes it seven times in a row the faith-based film since it released in theaters on Independence Day.
Sound of Freedom brought in $2.6 million from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers website, putting it in 10th place overall. It has also managed remain among the first ten at the box office on all but one of its 48 days in release.
Based on a true story, the independent picture stars Jim Caviezel as a U.S. government official who quits his post at the Department of Homeland Security in order to fully devote himself to the fight against child sex trafficking. As we previously reported, the movie crossed the $175 million threshold in ticket revenue at the domestic box office last week, making it just the second production in the faith-based genre ever to do so.
