That coincides with hopeful news about the pending streaming release of Season 4.
Cast and crew of The Chosen are on set for day one of filming of the fifth season of the hit streaming show about the life of Christ. Scheduled for 68 days of production, the action will focus on Holy Week, the time between Jesus' Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem and His resurrection.
Show creator/director Dallas Jenkins updated fans via a social media post he recorded in Utah at the first century mock-up set of the Jewish capital. That is where the initial phase of production will take place before moving back to the show's permanent set in Midlothian, Texas, south of Dallas.
He stated that the response from his team to this season's scripts has been "so cool," with them telling him that "this is the best season yet." A committed Christian, the 48-year-old husband and father of four children, also asked for prayer support from fans of the show.
Jenkins then turned his attention to the streaming release of Season 4, sharing hopeful news despite the fact that the "legal matters" that have thus far delayed it are still unresolved. That situation should, however, be sorted out sooner rather than later, meaning, "it's not going to be three months...it will be shorter than that," according to the director.
Christian Film Blog will follow developments both with the release of Season 4 and production of Season 5 - which will likely release early next year - and bring you updates as we get them, so be sure to check in with us regularly.
