The news comes as the hit show about the life of Christ launches ticket sales for the theatrical release of Season 5.

The fifth season of The Chosen will roll out on the big screen in a little over one month and it will feature some defining moments from Jesus' ministry like the Triumphal Entry and the Last Supper. Show creator and director Dallas Jenkins put on a livestream to announce the release schedule and to deliver some big news on a new partnership with Amazon.
He revealed that the agreement with that company will give its Prime Video service an exclusive 90-day window to stream the show after its theatrical release comes to a close. The exact dates are still to be revealed, but Season 5 will likely roll out on the platform sometime in June, according to Jenkins. After that 90-day period, the eight episodes will then become available to stream for free via the show's app in keeping with past practice.

Jenkins explained that the partnership with Amazon will raise the profile of the show, which stars American actor Jonathan Roumie as the Jesus character, and expose it to the streamer's massive existing audience. That outfit's marketing prowess and enormous financial resources will also boost the popular show - it has already got 250 million global viewers - and likely help with other projects from The Chosen team, including a mini-series on Joseph that they have in development. The director underlined that he and his team will retain full control over the content of The Chosen.
The new season of the program will first debut in North American movie theaters, coming out in three installments starting on March 27th with Part One, which will be composed of episodes one and two. Part Two follows on April 3rd and encompasses episodes three through five; Part Three - episodes six through eight - releases on April 10th. There will also be an opportunity to watch the entire fifth season in one sitting in theaters on Palm Sunday and the weekend of Easter.
Fathom Events is the distributor in North America, and you can see all the dates and purchase tickets via this link to their website. Part One - and only Part One - will also be available in theaters in some 40 other countries: you can check where and purchase tickets through this link to the show.
Jenkins - a committed Christian - also mentioned that the filming of Season 6 should start in about two months. It will focus on the 24-hours leading up to and including Jesus' crucifixion. He stated that it is certain to prove emotionally difficult for him and his team.
"This is going to be, obviously, the most challenging season we've ever done."
The 49-year-old husband and father of four shared that production will take place in both Texas and Utah, adding that there is an opportunity for fans to appear as extras. One other subject from the livestream event worth mentioning is an animated series for children called The Chosen Adventures that Jenkins and his team have in the works. He said it will begin releasing at some point later this year, and he shared two clips from the show: you can find them in the YouTube livestream at approximately 25:05 and 1:14:20 into the event.
