The three installments of this latest season have generated more than $36 million in total ticket revenue.

The Chosen keeps on rolling at the box office, with part three of the fifth season drumming up more than $6 million in North American theaters over the weekend, according to The Numbers website. That puts it in sixth place overall from Friday through Sunday.

This last installment of Season 5, encompassing episodes six through eight, nonetheless performed weaker in its inaugural weekend than parts one and two, which delivered $11.8 million and $6.9 million, respectively, when they opened. Each of those latter parts is still in theaters - a possible reason for the lower revenue of part three - with part two coming in 10th place at $961,000 and part one taking 15th position thanks to a $390,000 performance this past weekend.
All told, the theatrical release of this fifth season of the series from Christian director Dallas Jenkins and starring American actor Jonathan Roumie in the role of Jesus has generated $36.3 million dollars in ticket sales. And it is not done yet either, because all three parts will be in theaters through Easter Sunday, including what Jenkins and his partners are calling a "binge fest" that will include all eight episodes shown back-to-back in one sitting. You can find out more about that and purchase tickets to a local theater via this link to the show's website.
