The faith-based picture from the Kendrick Brothers is demonstrating staying power after three weekends in release.

The Forge claimed sixth place overall in domestic ticket revenue from Friday through Sunday - a one spot improvement from last weekend - bringing in $3 million, according to The Numbers website. That is a drop of 35% from that previous weekend, but it is a good performance 17 days into its theatrical release; the picture also had the third highest per-screen revenue among the Top-10 overall performers at the box office.

Directed by Alex Kendrick and produced by Stephen Kendrick - and co-written by them both - the movie focuses on the issue of Christian discipleship, with Cameron Arnett playing a successful businessman who takes an aimless 19-year-old, portrayed by Aspen Kennedy, under his wing to mentor him in life and disciple him in the faith.
With a good supporting cast of Christian actors like Karen Abercrombie, Priscilla Shirer, and T.C. Stallings, the film is delivering financially: it has generated $20.7 million so far in North American revenue and will roll out later this month in nearly a dozen countries in Latin America, a traditionally strong region for productions from the Kendrick Brothers.
