Tuesday was another strong day for The Forge, with the faith-based film bringing in more than $1.2 million in ticket sales in North America, which was good enough for fifth place overall at the box office, according to The Numbers website; that also matched its position from its opening weekend. When you dig a little deeper, however, the data from yesterday looks even better: the picture was number one for revenue on a per-screen basis.

This film, which focuses on discipleship and features talented Christian actors Cameron Arnett, Karen Abercrombie, and Priscilla Shirer in leading roles, brought in an average of $617 in each of the 1,800-plus venues where it played on Tuesday. Only two other movies in the overall Top-15 box office managed to break $500 per screen on the day, meaning The Forge won the category hands down.

After five days in release, the picture has generated $8.4 million in total ticket sales. That is a bit behind Overcomer - the Kendrick's previous movie made together with Affirm Films, Sony Pictures' faith-based division; that one had a $10.1 million haul after five days in release, but it also came out in 2019, which was before the coronavirus panic turned the movie industry upside down. In a word, the Kendrick Brothers and their studio partners have to be pleased with the way things are going so far for The Forge.
