According to The Numbers website, The Hill brought in $250,000 from Friday through Monday, putting it in 20th place for domestic ticket revenue. That also makes five consecutive Top-20 finishes since it debuted last month.

The film stars Christian actor Colin Ford as a baseball phenom who longs to make it as a professional player despite a painful and degenerative spinal condition. Dennis Quaid plays his Baptist preacher father, who opposes his son's pursuit of the game out of fear for his physical well-being and a desire for him to follow in his footsteps and become a man of the cloth.

Based on the true story of a Texan named Rickey Hill, the movie was co-written by Angelo Pizzo, who also wrote the popular sports movies Hoosiers (1986) and Rudy (1993).
