The latest production from the Erwin Brothers is wrapping up its second weekend in theaters.

The Unbreakable Boy came in ninth place in North American ticket sales from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers website, down one spot from its debut weekend. The faith-based picture from Christian producers Andrew and Jon Erwin and their Kingdom Story Company earned more than $1.2 million, off nearly 50% from the same period a week ago; that comes despite a slight uptick in its theater count: 1,717 versus 1,687.

Adapted from a 2014 book called The Unbreakable Boy: A Father's Fear, a Son's Courage, and a Story of Unconditional Love, it is based on actual events related to a boy with a zest for life even though he suffers from Autism and brittle bone disease. The movie was written and directed by Jon Gunn, who is a Believer, as are cast members Patricia Heaton and Todd Terry.
