"Unplanned Finishes Just Outside Top-15

The pro-life Christian film continues to perform well despite a big drop in its theater count.

Now into its fourth week in release, Unplanned is facing that inevitable fall in the number of theaters showing it, dropping off 40% from the previous weekend. The faith-based film still managed to bring in $590,000 from Friday through Sunday, according to preliminary revenue figures from The Numbers, claiming 17th place overall.

The movie is based on the memoir of former abortion clinic director Abby Johnson, who is now an outspoken right-to-life advocate, and it pulls back the curtain on money-grubbing and morally abhorent practices of Planned Parenthood, her former employer.

From the writing/directing team of Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon, Unplanned stars Christian actresses Ashley Bratcher - as Johnson - and Robia Scott as her boss at the abortion business giant. The film has brought in more than $17 million heretofore, far exceeding its $6 million production budget.
