Its theater count is way down and dropping, but the pro-life Christian film isn't done yet.
Now showing in just 37 theaters nationwide, Unplanned earned $23,000 over the weekend, according to Box Office Mojo, which is good for 43rd place overall. It is heading into week eight in release and this faith-based film, from the writer/director team of Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman, has brought in more than $18 million so far.
The movie, based on a memoir by the same name, tells the story of Abby Johnson and her transformation from an abortion clinic director into a right-to-life advocate. It features powerful performances from two Christian actresses: Ashley Bratcher in the role of Johnson and Robia Scott as her boss at the abortion business.
