Delayed by well over a year, the new channel will finally debut on cable television systems early in the New Year.
Magnolia Network from Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines at long last is coming to cable TV on January 5, 2022. A joint venture with Discovery, it was first set to launch in the fall of 2020, but coronavirus-related production delays made that impossible.
The new channel is currently available to stream, having launched in July on the Discovery Plus platform, as Christian Film Blog reported at the time. It features 150 hours of original programming related to home renovation, design and cooking to name but a few of the topics on offer. The Christian couple themselves host several shows, including repeats of Fixer Upper - the program that launched them to fame - and its new iteration, Fixer Upper: Welcome Home. That, by the way, will be the first show to play during the channel's cable TV debut.
Magnolia Network will replace Discovery's DIY Network across all cable carriers, so if your provider currently carries the DIY Network, you will automatically get the new channel when the switchover takes place on January 5th at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT. If you can't wait until then, Discovery Plus is offering a free seven-day trial for its subscription-based streaming service via this link, which will allow you to watch the Magnolia Network right now.
